Churches and Christianity...

When you think of the word "christian" what does it mean?

It means to be "christ-like".. We as humans cant be exactly like Christ, because we were born with a sin nature, and we have a flesh that gets us in trouble.. However, we are to strive to be like Jesus!

When I was younger, I don't remember there being alot of "mega churches".. and just and FYI, Any church that has over 2000-2500 members is considered a Mega church ..

anyways, I have seen a trend that seems to be sweeping across this nation.. Churches are growing and building big beautiful buildings and drawing people in by the masses.. but what exactly are they DOING in those big beautiful buildings?

Here is my observation... They are teaching upbeat messages that tickle our ears, they are becomeing very technical savvy with all their big screens, Awesome camera work, cool videos and bright flashy lights , and they have kicking sound systems to hear these messeges on, and the music... BUT........

Pastors don't seem to be tackling some of the Most critical issues we are facing in the times we live in, such as Divorce( which is at a all time high), Family struggles, Sexual abuse of young kids,, Substance abuse of any form,, Abortion mills, strife among Our Brothers and sisters in the Lord , and MANY more!!

Instead what we are hearing is Messages about How we need to Bring all our tithes in, Building funds, Catchy songs about Money gonna pour down from Heaven,,. asking for "seed Faith" gifts of money to get your breakthrough, and My perosnal Fav... The step by step guide on "keys to living in Gods Wealthy Best"

Don't get me wrong, God wants us Blessed, and he doesn't mind when we have fun things, BUT.. This country is way out of control on Fun Things!.. We Christians have gone over board on getting Fun things!!!!

We have become desensitized to Morals, and Unfortunatly people are striving to live a life full of toys, gadgets, and obtain great wealth, all in the Name of God..

But , look around you, look what is happening in this country, this world, your very own neighborhoods, schools, places of work..

We DO Need to hear messages of Hope, and encouragement for sure!.. We ALL need to know How much Grace and Mercy God shows us, and How we can have total Forgivness in Him!!.., however, we also need to hear Strong, hard hitting messages, that WAKE us up, that cause us to get our butts in gear, and really DO something for Gods kingdom!!

We need to be stopping Abortion clinics, and getting involved in Pregnancy crisis centers, to Encourage those moms who did choose Life, and Give Tools and Offer Help and Hope to those woman who are on their way to kill their baby!.. and enough of people saying" oh, I dont get involved in that stuff, and Please someone tell me.. What is up with pastors NOT addressing it?.. They say" we dont do that, We pray that God will open peoples eyes"... .WHAT????.. If they are not addressing This stuff from the Pulpit , Who Will??
I will tell you a hard fact.. ANY church that has a tax exempt status of 501C3 is under law , NOT allowed to talk about Abortion, or politics , or they will loose that status
Do a Google search on Tax Exemption 501c3, and read the rules on what churches can and can not say about certain things.. Scarey crap!

If Marriages are under attack, why are Churches NOT preaching about it every Sunday until they see changes happening???

There are children being sexually abused every day , it is estimated 1 in 3 girls is violated in her life( and those are the ones reported).. That means it is happening in YOUR church!!.. Why is this not addressed??
Why did it Take Oprah to bring light to this subject??

There are Moms, Dad, and Teens strung out of prescription drugs and suffering In silence because they are afraid to ask for help, and feel too overwhelmed with life and stress..... why is this Not being exposed and taught on how to Love and help that person?

Pornography is at a all time HIGH, especially in Churches, because Sinners don't know any better, and Christians are tempted, and hiding it.. why is this Not addressed??

I don't mean to sound like a Negative Nancy on here.. These are just things that have been stirring inside of me for a couple years..

It seems that Churches and Christians are too busy having Fun times in church, and being entertained, that they are loosing sight of where our country is headed :-(

America was founded on Godly morals, and principles.. and now look what WE have allowed..

Other countries used to respect us, and you know why?.. its because they saw we had God in our country .. Now we have Other countries laughing at us, and mocking us!..

Im Going to Be bold by saying this, and please don't judge me...
At the current state that this Country is in, I am not proud to be an American :-(.. That makes me sad to say that.. I LOVE America, and I know It has the potential to be The greatest, most Godly , and Powerful, influential Country again..... But think about it..

America..
*has the highest level of people dependant of Government assistance
*we took prayer out of schools
*We allow gay Pride parades to happen, but Don't stand up for a child being Bullied for bringing his bible to school and praying
*We have the highest level of school dropouts
*we are Severely in Debt by the trillions
* The percentage of what is actually made in the USA is sooo low
*We have the one of the Highest number of abortions performed each year
*We are the Most obsessed with Hollywood and its craziness
*We have the Most churches in any country, and yet some of the Most UnGodly acting people
*We allow Movies, and Tv take our Lords name in vain , But Allow "Christ" to be taken out of Christmas, because it isnt "politically correct"
and The List goes on and On...

Are you Proud of that??..

Don't get me wrong, America is a nice place to live, because we have more freedoms than anyone else does.. but trust me,.. we are loosing those at a rapid rate! .. If you don't believe me, do your homework and read how many Christians are under attack for basic Rights and Freedoms set up by our Founding Fathers :-(

This is just a wake up call to my Bloggy friends, that we MUST stand up, and do something!

We as 1 person can not conquer the world, but together we can do something to change the world around us!

I know this Post may sound harsh, but I just had this on my heart, and wanted to write it out..
I want to Encourage you, to Please pray and ask God what you can do.. what you can be involved in , even if its something small .. Nothing is too small in Gods eyes
Jesus said" If you have done it unto the leaset of these, you have done it unto me".. That means he sees everything we do!
He sees that woman you encouraged who felt like she was on the brink of Loosing it, He sees That Husband you Encouraged to Stay with hsi Wife no Matter what!
HE sees That Hug you gave someone who doesnt feel pretty or popular, but that Hug just made her feel special
and So many other things!!!

Pray and ask God, what you can do to be a Light to this world, and bring Jesus to people!!
