Time for Churches to shake things up!!

Church has become more of a social gathering rather than a place of equipping :-(..

I don't mean that disrespectful, Churches need fun times, activities for all..

BUT...
I am seeing in my generation so much imbalance.. There are major issues happening all around us, and pastors don't talk about them anymore!
I remember My grandma telling me of the days when preachers would get all fired up and preach the "hell, fire and brimstone" messages.. and people walked out of church in a reverent feeling , and conviction of things they needed to change in their lives..

While I don't think we need preachers screaming at us.. I do however think they need to be speaking on the Not so popular topics, such as..

* Sexual Abuse in children- 1 in 4 girls has this happen to them, and 1 in 6 boys !.. and those are the ones reported!.. so that means when you sit in church, there are people in your congregation doing this unspeakable crime to an innocent child!

*Human Trafficking- It is not just something that happens "in other countries".. it is happening right here in America!.. Girls are being sold into sex slavery, and used for prostitution!

* Abortion- 300o innocent babies are killed every day!.. stop right there and think about that.. 3000 !!.. it comes out to over 1 million per year.. These babies are ripped apart limb by limb!
I know this is graphic, but come on people.. Its happening all around us!!

* Divorce- it is at an all time high!.. 50% of marriages end in divorce!.. 80% of 2nd marriages end in it!.. do those numbers not alarm you??

* Pornography- 80-90% of men look at it .. and lets be clear on something, just because A man looks at it, or is tempted does not make him a "pig".. God made men very visual, so what the heck do we expect?.. Lets get our heads out of the sand and see why it is a Multi Billion dollar industry?.. I hear many woman say" they are pigs and need to control themselves".. really?.. That is like saying to a Woman" you need to control yourself when you see a sale rack , or chocolate".. Both can be dangerous, and damaging! Yes, porn is more serious, but hey.. overspending just "because its on sale" and, over eating is sin too.. Sin is sin.. so lets call it what it is!
And just for the record.. Porn comes in many forms hard stuff or the soft stuff like those Fashion magazines with half dressed woman Selling a certain brand of Clothes.., fitness mags with bikini clad woman "getting fit" or thier Skin tight "workout clothes", and the ever popular Victoria secret cataloge!.. Woman buy these things, leave them around the house, and yet get angry if their husband looks at them or gets turned on by it?.. Talk about a Double standard huh?..
If your going to read the articles, or buy the sexy stuff from VS ladies.. Keep the Magizine out of sight and throw it away when your done..

Everyone has a vice that trys to put a tight grip on them!!

These are just a few topics, there are Many more.. but these are ones that are crippling our society, and destroying each generation:-(

So, why are Churches Not talking about it?
its very simple... Our flesh doesn't really want to hear those things ..
Messages that talk about this will not draw crowds.. so no big crowds= Empty seats... empty seats= Not much money coming in..

Churches have become big money making corporations.. and everyone knows that Ceos" aka, Pastors", want the money to flow in..

Pastors also want to preach "feel good messages".. don't get me wrong.. we need messages of Gods Love, compassion, hope, Mercy, and forgiveness.

I heard a Joel Osteen say " the reason why he preaches 'uplifting messages" all the time is.. " he doesn't want his church people walking out of church with heavy hearts"...
To that I say" WHY THE HECK NOT???????????????????????

If our hearts are never heavy or burdened, how will we feel compelled by the Holy spirt to change?
How will we see these things happening around us, and feel drawn to make them stop?

Church in America has become very Mamby pamby.. and seems to be more interested in Fun times, making people feel good, and being all up to date on the latest , and greatest technology..
Guess what?.. God isn't impressed folks!

When his innocent babies that he gave life to in a woman's womb are being ripped apart, when his innocent little girls and boys he gave life to are being sexually abused by someone they trusted, when Marriages he put together are being torn apart, When Strong men that he has plans for are being sucked into Porn addictions.. GOD ISN'T IMPRESSED with all the flashy lights, loud pumping music, Video production pieces, and weekly feel good messages!!

There is balance in all things, and having "fun" in church sometimes isn't bad, we all need it..
but the Fun balance is bottomed out, and the serious balance is drifting away to becoming obsolete :-(

I know this is all some Heavy stuff, but my intentions are to encourage everyone to stand up and say NO more to these things!..
