Holiday Frenzy gone too far?

Today is "Black Friday", a day that kind of contradicts itself.. It was intended to be a day of Aweome deals put out by stores, in hopes to Bring many shoppers in to not only snag the great deals, but to buy MORE stuff while they are in the store..
The Contradicting part is, while the stores get in the "black" revenue wise, MANY people go in the "red" further and further by adding debt to their finances :-(

This year something different happened.. Retailers decided to do Thanksgiving day sales, and start Black Friday sales in the evening of Thanksgiving!

This is just my personal opinion, but This idea was completely STUPID!!!

A friend of mine posted something on her face book about "what is the big deal about doing this"..
Oddly enough, I gave a opinion about it , like many others did, and I was De- Friended.. GASP!!.. Imagine that, de friending a person you have known for many years all over a difference of opinion .. how sad for her :-(
Anyways, It got me to thinking.. "what is the big deal" with this happening?.. Here is my thoughts..

The devil comes to steal , kill and destroy everything and anything he can get access to, well one thing that is under attack is Families, and marriages.. and what better way to do it..
Take away the importance of being with your family.. By stores being open on Thanksgiving , it shows the dishonor of family time :-(.. Lets face it..if this was accomplished, Christmas day will be next.. and by that point, NO holiday will be left untouched in hopes of spending quality family time..

Years ago, Many stores closed on Sundays, I know it seems such a Crazy concept, but I actually think it isnt such a bad idea.. maybe not the whole day , but at least be only open till 4 or 5..

Holidays have become about getting the best gift, shopping till you drop , stress, chaos, and for what??

What has happened to the family unit in this country?

See, some people don't see the stores being open on major Holidays as a problem, but the devil doesn't come up and say " hey, I'm the devil, and I'm gonna ruin every holiday there is"
He does it very sneaky.. and before you know it, your all caught up in the Frenzy of it all :-(

This country is so obsessed with Holidays, that it really has lost the true meaning ..
